Laboratory Proven Water Resistance
Other hair fibre holding sprays do improve the water resistance of fibres. However they all act in the same way, simply using a polymer to adhere fibres to hair. This works to an extent, but they allow the electrostatic charge of the fibre and the hair to change, removing the bond between hair and fibre.
Locking Mist Plus utilises a patent pending polymer blend which not only secures fibres to hair, but acts to maintain the electrostatic bond as well. This means Nanofibres are always the correct charge to bind to hair, even under water.
A laboratory test shows that a high percentage of Nanofibres are held in place even when completely submerged in water. In the test, a very small quantity of fibres were lost because the Locking Mist Plus spray did not cover every fibre.

How long does Locking Mist Plus last compared to the Nanofibres®?
Locking Mist Plus will last around 60 days with daily use, the same as a 30g container of Nanofibres.
Is it essential that I use Locking Mist Plus as well as the Nanofibres®?
It is not essential that you use Locking Mist Plus with the Nanofibres, but we strongly recommend it. Using Locking Mist Plus provides a natural finish to perfectly match your own hair, and ensures the best retention of fibres throughout the day.
What is the difference between using Locking Mist Plus and using a regular hairspray?
Locking Mist Plus is dispensed as a finer mist compared to normal hairsprays. Hairspray is not dispensed in as fine particles and so may cause the fibres to clump together, reducing the natural effect of Nanofibres. Locking Mist Plus is water resistant, and secures the fibres in wind, rain, perspiration, and even under water. Additionally, Locking Mist Plus gives your hair and the fibres a consistent, natural shine.

Will Locking Mist Plus leave my hair feeling greasy or stiff to the touch?
No it will not. Locking Mist Plus will bond Nanofibres to your hair without grouping your hair together or making it greasy or stiff. Nanofibres and Locking Mist Plus applied to conceal thinning hair look exactly like your normal hair.
Does using Locking Mist Plus cause hair loss?
Locking Mist Plus is formulated so it will not damage hair, inhibit hair growth or cause any increase in hair loss. Furthermore, Locking Mist Plus is compatible with any topical treatment- when it is sprayed on hair it will not significantly affect Minoxidil penetration. If you spray Locking Mist Plus onto your scalp, wash your hair and scalp before using topical treatments for best results.

SLS and SLES
These common surfactants are very harsh and drying to hair. They can also leave skin dry and irritated when left on for long periods of time, such as with Locking Mist Plus.
Parabens
Many people worry about the group of preservatives called parabens. Nanogen do not believe these are harmful, but appreciate our client's concerns and so all our products are paraben free.
Formaldehyde Donors
Many common preservatives in cosmetics are formaldehyde donors. These are not dangerous, but formaldehyde will damage skin and growing hair cells, so no Nanogen product contains them.
